Stopping smoking can have an enormous effect on you. Little things can bring about big changes. Your morning coffee will become more potent as nicotine acts to break down caffeine in your blood supply. That change may be noticeable so you may want to cut your caffeine intake. Try drinking something else.
As your body adjusts from stopping smoking, you may want to eat more fresh fruit or drink fresh fruit juice. The natural sugars in fruit will be beneficial as your body rids itself of the nicotine.
Stopping smoking can cause you feel a little off colour for the first few days. Do not panic and do not worry about this. It is just the change as your body gets used to no longer having nicotine regularly.
Drink more water as well. You may feel a little dehydrated at times. Water is essential for life and once you stop smoking you may feel thirsty more often.
As with caffeine, alcohol can also have a greater effect on you. Be wary of the amount you drink and now you no longer smoke you will not need to go outside every so often for a quick smoke. As pubs and bars are increasingly becoming smoke free, you do not have to keep leaving your friends for five minutes.
Enjoy an early morning smoothie instead of a cigarette. Get the vitamins and minerals your body needs before you head off for that early morning run!
As the nicotine in your body fully disappears, remember that other drugs will have an effect.
